Nathan Cunningham credits all his talent to God, and believes his success is what it might look like if God and Luck had a baby. It’s obvious from this showcase that he enjoys Lego, music, writing, and photography very, very much, but he also likes history, camping, chess, and blog comments. Especially blog comments.
Nathan has been playing with Lego for as long as he can remember, and has been an active member of the online Adult Fan of Lego (AFOL) community since May 2005. He is the current historian of the Utah Lego User Group, and can’t imagine a better group of hobbyists to spend his time with.
He has also been involved in music in some way or another ever since his mother sang to him in his crib. Nathan started out as a singer, and began “officially” playing the piano at age five. At age ten he picked up the violin, and was very active in the school choir until he had to choose between it and the orchestra. However, he still considers himself a decent singer, but only if he’s singing bass or no one else is around. Instrumental music is where he truly shines, and he has enjoyed high positions in various school orchestras, as well as praise from friends and family. But most of them haven’t heard him play the guitar, which he only started at age eighteen.
Writing was one of Nathan’s first passions in life, and he started creating grand stories as soon as he could hold a pencil properly. Over the years that pencil has become a fine pen, but Nathan still isn’t published. No, the Internet doesn’t count.
Photography is a newer interest of his, which he discovered after getting lucky with his Olympus too many times. He sees photography as more luck than anything, and it’s not something he really hopes to pursue as more than a “right-place-right-time” kind of hobby. Still, few things make him happier than a really awesome shot.
Nathan currently resides in Taylorsville, Utah with his parents and younger brother, but that’s not why he’s single. Or at least he hopes not.
